Founded in 2001, GroupExpat is a not-for-profit Association. At the time of its foundation, it was the first forum of its kind to serve as a platform for international mobility professionals in the French-speaking part of Switzerland to get together and discuss practical challenges faced in the field.
The Association has grown ever since to encompass over thirty Members today. Our ambition is to continue to grow both in numbers and in value-added.
Faced with new challenges related to international mobility, innovative solutions are called for. Indeed, regulations abound in numbers, mobility patterns become more diverse, presenting increasingly complex challenges to professionals in the field.
In this context, best practice exchange and sharing are more than ever a “must”.
GroupExpat’s mission is to deliver high quality and value-added services to its Members, to enable them to better explore and embrace issues related to international mobility.
GroupExpat’s specificity is to focus more on outbound international mobility (i.e. expatriates moving from Switzerland abroad), rather than on inbound international mobility (impatriation), which is already covered by other fora.
Through 4 to 5 yearly events, GroupExpat orchestrates presentations and know-how sharing on topical technical subjects, or on broader themes, such as family impact, intercultural issues or logistics. Thanks to these events, Members have access to subject-matter experts, thereby allowing them not only to enhance their knowledge but also to expand and build an effective local network.
Our values: respect for the contribution each Member can bring to the debate, ability to listen and understand the needs of Members, both Corporate and Service Providers, sharing of experience and expertise.
Our revised Statutes have been approved by the General Assembly on 15 March 2016.
